The options
Routes 1 to 3 are the ways down (we'll pick one). The green dashed line is the plan for coming home. Mileages and drive times are approximate, calculated from road routing and not counting side trips, detours or stops.
November travel notes
❄️ Cold desert nights
Bend, Ely, Tonopah and Flagstaff often drop below freezing at night in November. Keep the 'bago's water lines heated or winterized, and pack warm layers.
🛣️ Check the passes
Look at Siskiyou Summit on I-5 before heading north out of Ashland, and the Blue Mountains on I-84 if we take Route 3.

⏱️ Pace
Plan on roughly 300 to 400 miles a day in the RV. Daylight is short in November, so earlier starts help.
🐾 Puppy on board
Lots of short stops for potty breaks and leg stretches. Most tasting rooms won't allow dogs inside, so look for patios and outdoor seating.
🍇 Harvest Hosts
Some wineries in Paso Robles and Sonoma host RVs overnight through Harvest Hosts, a membership program. Worth a look for the trip home.
⛽ Fuel gaps
US-95 and especially US-93 through eastern Nevada have long stretches between towns. Top off whenever it's convenient.
